Mario Kart is one of my favorite game series. I would consider myself a pretty good player after playing this game for over 10 years. Currently I own Mario Kart for the Wii, Mario Kart 7 for the 3DS, and Mario Kart 8 for the Switch.

Ever since I got a Wii as a kid, I have been playing Mario Kart. On the Wii, I made it my mission to unlock all the race tracks and get first place in every race. It took me a while but eventually I finished every single track. Then I would go on to do the ghost races against myself and race against really good players in order to improve. I don't even want to know how many hours I have spent on the Wii version of Mario Kart.

In the Wii version, there are 8 cups that you can race, and there are 32 tracks that you can race on (shown below).

Mario Kart 7 Logo

I started playing Mario Kart 7 shortly after getting my 3DS (I believe I never played it on my DSi at the time). I loved the new tracks and how I could be fully immersed in the game with the 3D feature on my 3DS. I could play Mario Kart anywhere now! I was so excited. I completed every track on this version of Mario Kart too.

In Mario Kart 7 there are 8 cups and 32 tracks (shown below).

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Logo

I started playing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe a little while after I got my Switch. This game is the one I have spent the least amount of time playing. The graphics look very good, but they can make things overwhelming at times and that kind of ruins the fun of the game for me. Nintendo also made it so you have to pay to unlock half of the cups, which is really disappointing. If you pay $59.99 for a game, you should not have to pay to unlock everything!

In Mario Kart 8 Deluxe there are 24 cups (only 12 are in the base game) and 96 tracks (48 base game tracks). This game features significantly more characters you can play as (including your Amiibos) and has a lot of vehicle options.

These are all of the base game tracks:
